Dorothy Day Hospitality House

The Dorothy Day Hospitality House is critical in caring for the homeless and hungry in the greater Danbury area. Saint Paul’s has for many years prepared the evening meal on the second Thursday of each month. We make the same meal each month, and many parishioners over the years have participated either by preparing a meal and dropping it by the church, or by coming down to the House and assisting in set-up and serving the meal.

Food Pantry

Parishioners (youth and adult) weekly bring non-perishable food items and place them in the baskets at the rear of the church and in the Church School wing.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is currently building a home on Route 133 in Brookfield. Saint Paul’s has been sending teams, often once a month, to assist with construction.

Thanksgiving Meals & The Giving Tree

Each Thanksgiving, parishioners are encouraged to procure food items to share with local designated families. And each Christmas we invite the parish to share in reaching out to several local families—usually this involves purchasing gift items and bringing them wrapped to the church, where our mission committee assists in distributing the gifts to the designated families. Both these ministries are done in conjunction with the local Social Services department.
